Alachua County’s Foundation for the Promotion of Music sponsors several awards for outstanding student musicians.
Dorothy Reaves String Award
The Dorothy Reaves String Award is presented annually to an outstanding 9th-12th grade string player living in Alachua County or contiguous counties. The first and second place winners receive a monetary award, a plaque, and will perform at the FPM Spring Recital at the Thomas Center on April 27, 2025.

Betsy Schnell Piano Award
This competition is for piano performance and is open to students in Alachua County and contiguous counties. Winners receive a monetary prize, a plaque, and will perform at the FPM Spring Recital at the Thomas Center on April 27, 2025. There are two levels of competition: Middle School and High School.
